Kings Priory School wishes to appoint an academic and highly qualified professional to contribute to the teaching of English. This is an exceptional opportunity for the right candidate to develop and shape pupils’ experience of English at Kings Priory School and we welcome applications from colleagues at all points of their career. Our pupils achieve results which are significantly above national average at GCSE: in 2019 93% of pupils achieved levels 9-4.
The post will also involve teaching English Literature in the Sixth Form; please do state any specialisms in your application. A willingness to participate in the wider life of the school in all of its forms is absolutely essential.
The department has successfully delivered a range of extra-curricular visits from: theatre trips, supporting the teaching of key texts; University lectures, supporting the A level delivery of both Language and Literature and overseas visits to the Battlefields of Belgium and France. Pupils, and students, have always found the experiences stimulating and thought-provoking.
