Pastoral Leader

This position is permanent working 35 hours per week, term time only, plus the 5 inset days (39 weeks). In this role you will be dealing with attendance, behavioural, pastoral and welfare issues. This supports the development of a whole school approach to overcome obstacles to learning and improve pupil participation in learning and whole school life.

We are looking for a passionate and proactive individual who is committed to helping our pupils succeed. You will promote positive behaviour throughout the school and support children to take responsibility for their behaviour and choices.

You will have experience of monitoring and tracking attendance, and the ability to implement and monitor systems to evaluate and improve the activities of pastoral care. Knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and Health and Safety is essential.

You will have GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent), along with excellent interpersonal skills, you will be emphatic with children and young people, and be able to work effectively as part of a small team.

About the Mowbray Education Trust

The Mowbray Education Trust (MET) is a multi-academy trust currently educating around 2,500 children from the age of 2 to 16 in the town of Melton Mowbray and surrounding villages in the Borough of Melton. The MET currently has one secondary school, five primary schools and one pre-school; with potential numerical and geographical growth in the future.

Melton Mowbray is a rural market town in Leicestershire which is easily commutable from Grantham, Leicester, Loughborough, Nottingham and Oakham.

The remuneration package includes a competitive salary, contributory public-sector pension scheme and a generous annual leave entitlement:

  • Salary £17,397 - £19,208 per annum (£21,591 - £23,838 pro rata per annum)
  • Local Government Pension Scheme membership
  • 5.44 weeks paid holiday entitlement rising to 6.44 weeks after 5 years’ continuous service
