We are looking for an enthusiastic and suitably qualified individual to take on the role of Learning Mentor who will support our goals and vision for our pupils' learning and development. We are particularly interested in individuals of significant ability in English and Maths, aware of and stimulated by the challenges and potential of a successful multi-ethnic coeducational school.
Van Gogh Primary opened in September 2018 as part of the Dunraven Educational Trust. Working closely with the other schools in the Trust, we have begun to develop an exciting, dynamic and progressive curriculum and community, focused on improving outcomes for children and their families.
Our ambition is that Van Gogh becomes a centre of excellence – not only providing children with a dynamic curriculum leading to outstanding academic achievement, but with the personal skills and qualities that will equip them to successfully navigate the secondary phase of their education. Our school aim is simply ‘Creating Excellence’.
The school is split over two sites and boasts some fantastic resources including an exceptional outdoor learning environment for Nursery and Reception and a swimming pool. However, it is not the facilities that make a school, it is the community and we are extremely proud of the children, their families and the team of teachers and supporting adults who make this a very special place to work.
Dunraven Educational Trust
The Dunraven Educational Trust believes that our schools have a moral imperative to create the best educational provision that they can in order to serve the needs of their community effectively, now and in the future. The Trust has primary, secondary and sixth form phases and well-established ITT provision as part of our National Teaching School. We are experienced and successful in supporting schools in a range of areas including leadership development, teaching and learning, finance and HR.
What we believe
The Trust has one overarching aim: excellence for and from everyone. This is an expectation for both the children and adults in a school community. It is achieved in a variety of ways according to the context of each school but within the clear and supportive framework established by the Trust.
Each school has a strategic plan that responds to the Trust’s central aim, values and operating system. A strategy that delivers strong outcomes, above average progress, a great learning and working environment, a financially viable organisation and an outward facing philosophy.
The Dunraven Educational Trust and Van Gogh Primary are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All offers of employment are subject to an Enhanced DBS check, and where applicable, a prohibition from teaching check will be completed for all applicants. It is an offence for an individual to attempt to engage in regulated activity (working with children) when disqualified. We are fully committed to equality and to valuing diversity as an employer and a provider of education.
Van Gogh Primary is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We particularly welcome applications from under represented groups including ethnicity, gender, transgender, age, disability, sexual orientation or religion.
