‘You have a package of staff training and support with a clear focus on developing and sharing first rate teaching and learning’ (OFSTED November 2017) IMAGINE walking into school and seeing a dinosaur – or a plane - or a badger. The Langley Academy is not just another school; it is ...
Housed in an iconic new building designed by Foster and Partners, it will specialise in Science and also pioneer the use of museum learning and encourage sports, notably rowing and cricket.
The Langley Academy aims for the highest achievement for all and to provide a welcoming, imaginative and creative environment which enriches the lives of all involved. We aim to instil traditional values and promote respect for other beliefs. The Academy will strive to be at the forefront of science education. We will develop links with national and regional museums to add an external dimension to learning.
Langley Academy Trust is a Multi-Academy Trust currently comprising a secondary academy and two primary academies. The trust was created by, and remains under the sponsorship of the Annabel Arbib Foundation, the charitable Trust that supports the philanthropy of Annabel Nicoll. As Sponsor, Annabel chairs the company and is very actively involved with the life of the academies and the roles of trustees and governors.
The trust began with The Langley Academy, which replaced Langleywood School in 2007, a previous secondary school, and brought the benefit of stunning new buildings and a complete change of approach and opportunity for students. This was added to in 2015 by a new purpose built primary academy, The Langley Academy Primary, sharing the campus and, again, benefiting from state of the art facilities funded under the Free School programme and by the Annabel Arbib Foundation. The MAT also agreed to the addition of Parlaunt Park Primary Academy in 2014, with the intention of transforming an existing local primary school.
